I ve been using a mooer preamp live for a while and was very happy with it until it developed a fault and once my refund gets back to me i m considering getting a hx stomp as it s replacement.

The mooer has more mids perhaps.
I like line 6 team and community but i don t like helix at all not anymore i ve had a helix and 2 stomps for a few years.
If the preamp live does that as well or better at a lower cost and smaller footprint it s right up my alley.
I m half considering selling my helix lt getting one of these i have helix native already and i m really only using the modeling on the lt to ape my fireball 100.
Where i stand in all of this i m not quite sure.

The first comparison is the one with the most difference as you get later in the vid they are closer.
They both sound functional to me.
If i had to buy a modeler i would try the mooer ge250 and the mod duo dwarf kickstarter.
The mark v rectifier and jp models in the preamp live sound nothing like their real life counterparts but the brown sound model does and wound up being the perfect starting point.
I just prefer using preamp and torpedo cab and now a tonemaster twin reverb.
The californian company has a long established reputation whereas mooer is an emerging force.

To which ends mooer already has the ge series which is sort of morphing into helix like territory where the touring players probably need something quite a bit simpler but still smaller than the recent mooer pre amp live in any case all steps in the right direction.
Mooer have made a bit of a name out of themselves for the quality and transparency of their micro boost pedals and the one tucked into the preamp live carries on this tradition with great pride.
I ve looked at lots of videos and skimmed a lot of the manual but haven t been able to understand whether i can set the hx up like i did with my pal and was hoping someone could maybe help me out.
One of the preamp live s most interesting features is the tone capture function.
On one hand the demo isn t great because its not using all the production tricks that we get in most axe helix vids but neither is the axe shining bright in this video.
Whereas the preamp live has little competition in its price range the ge300 faces stiffer opposition most notably from line 6 s helix lt.
